Lunch Dates.

Yesterday I went to lunch with my mom, Anissa, and my friend Jaime at Tokyo Joes. It's a new restaurant that opens tomorrow actually but they had a pre-opening for people to come and try out their food before the actual opening. It was really nice of them because everything was free! And their food was really delicious too! I can't wait to go back for more and hopefully sooner than later.

It was so much fun to get and sit with my friends and my mom and just enjoy the lunch and catch up. I really hope that we all get to do it again soon.

Awhile after this I decided to hang out with my cousin Sydney and we went to the mall and hung out for the rest of the night. While at the mall we decided to grab some pizza from Sbarro and it was soooo delicious! I haven't had a good pizza slice in awhile so I was so happy!

I love Sydney and everytime we hang out we always have a good time together! I can't wait to spend more time with her this summer.

I hope you're all enjoying your summer as much as I am!
Until next time..

Coffee Shop Controversy

Starbucks vs Small Coffee Shops

People interaction, drinking coffee out of mugs, sitting down and exchanging ideas is something I believe in. However, with small coffee shops beginning to disappear it seems we are losing this essence. And the purpose of a small coffee house will be lost if we continue to allow big chains like Starbucks to take over. Now, don't get me wrong I love Starbucks just as much as the next person and by no means am I trying to get rid of Starbucks (I love them way too much), but there's just something about a small individual coffee shop that you just can't get there. And I also feel like the more chains take over the more we get one step closer to becoming a uniform society.

Individual coffee shops are supposed to be varied and cater to distinct grooms of people.
But what happens when your local coffee shop is Starbucks?

And how do you all feels bout it? I know some people who think coffee  is just coffee and it doesn't matter where you get it from. I would love to know others opinions.

Coffee Dates.

Hey everyone, I apologize for being away for so long! But I'm back now, and with stories no less!

So today was pretty eventful! Well, as eventful as one's Sunday can get that is. I was fortunate enough to grand coffee and lunch with one of my good friends from high school, Taylor! She just graduated last thursday so congrats to her!

We stopped in coffee rush (pictured above, not my picture) and sat for about a good hour to catch up since I haven't talked to her in a really long time. It was so nice to just sit and finally talk with her after so long!
(taylor checking out the menu)

After we finished at coffee rush we went down the street to this little mediterranean diner and grabbed some lunch. She had a chicken kabob gyro sandwich (i think, i can't quiet remember to be honest) and I just had some chicken lemon rice soup. We sat there and talked some more and the food was really good!

The diner was so cute, and I can't wait to go there again! I really wish I could remember the name though, but at the moment I can't. Afterwards I met up with my best friend Anissa and we watched some Grey's Anatomy until we decided we wanted Starbucks.

Just like with Taylor we talked and caught up a bit since I hadn't really gotten too since I came back from my two week trip to California. We also talked about future plans, school and tv shows! I always love spending time with this girl. We also decided that we should never stop being friends, not just because we're such good friends but also because we could totally ruin each others lives if we ended up ever hating each other. So we agreed that it's in both of our best interests to stay friends! But I promise that's not the only reason why we're still friends! It's cause I love her and she's always there.

Now, before I get too sentimental I will stop this post (lol). Coffee dates are fun and I think everyone should have them. Especially if you haven't seen someone in awhile, it's the perfect excuse to hang out!

Is it possible that we've gotten so spoiled by choices that we've become unable to make one?

For My Mother - A Supermom

I know that in this movie her "mother" really did NOT know best haha. But I am glad to say that my mother almost always knows what is best for me! And this post, ladies and gentleman, is for her.
(1997/98?)

This is my wonderful mother and I! Can't you tell the resemblance?! haha, well if not take a look at these two pictures below and you definitely will!

We're baby twins! I'm on the left and my mother is on the right. Now I know she's about a year or two older than I am in my picture but we look so much alike that I once confused her picture for mine. I actually do it all the time when looking at pictures of her as a child. Either way, I know I have her to thank for my dashing good looks! :D

I like to think of my mom as a SUPERMOM. Cause she does it all and more for me! And more than half the time she doesn't think twice to do it. I used to wonder as a kid how she did all the things she done for me and I now know that it's because she's been hiding a cape in her closet all these years! I hope that one day I too will have a special cape in my closet that my kids find and feel the way I do about my mother, about me. (many years from now that is!

"To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in it's perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow." - Maya Angelou

You were the one who loved me, even when I gave you a thousand reasons not to. Because that's what you've always done. You have always loved me and been there for me no matter what wrong I have done. It's been 20 years since your first Mother's Day with me and 21 since your first with brother. No matter what trials and tribulations I've gone through thus far in life it's been a great 20 years calling myself your daughter because I wouldn't be the person I am today without your guidance, advice, and everything in between. You love me unconditionally and I'll never be able to repay you for that but I'll die trying. Love you momma. Happy Mother's Day. 💕

On this mothers day I like to picture my mom having fun, haha. She knows what I mean by this..

Anywayyyys, I will end this post here! But happy mothers day to all the mothers, mothers to be, and even those almost mothers. Keep your head up and your heart strong!

Blogging Friendships

So I have come to realize that I don't really have any blogger friends! And I'm a little jealous of all the bloggers who do! I think it's so cool to be able to connect with other bloggers and just talk about, well i don't know.. blog things? Bloggers are people who put down words they don't always say out loud, down on their blog and I LOVE that! It's a way for you to connect with the world in hopes that someone might just understand what you're talking about. Whether it be a life experience, or how good a recipe is. I want blogger friends so I have someone to connect with in this way.
None of my friends in real life actually blog and when I talk about it, none of them really understand. I know I just started my blog just about 8-9 months ago but I really hope that in the future my blog gets more followers so that I have more people to communicate with and then I can have some blogger friends.
I know this sounds totally lame, but it's so true haha. Don't judge me please!

Do What You Love!

This morning as I went through my usual routine of checking on blogs I follow, I came across a new post by Helene in Between. She blogged about how it's tricky to figure out just exactly what "IT" is that you love to do. So today I decided I would tell you guys what I love to do and why!

As some of you may or may not know, I am a photographer! I don't consider myself a professional (because sadly, i'm just not there yet), however I do LOVE it! I started my own little photography because in 2011 because I love(d) it so darn much! And to be honest, I can't get enough of it!

Pictures to me aren't just pictures. They are evidence of memories. Good and bad. Memories that represent who you were and are! I don't know about you, but one of my favorite things to do is go through old photo albums and just reminisce on my childhood or make up stories from the pictures I see of family members I've never met. (It's fun! You should try it some time!) I'm so lucky to have family members who take pictures a lot. My great grandmother has so many photo albums that are practically pouring over with so many wonderful photos, wonderful memories! I love picking random ones and asking her to tell me about that day if she way there or just who the people are. Pictures are time capsules. Because no matter how much time goes by the picture stays the same, even if the people in it don't!

Here's a picture of me holding two beautiful Canons, that are sadly not mine. :(
I just get so excited whenever I'm around any type of camera! Oh and especially if the camera is a Canon <3 However, I do have a big respect for Nikon and it's a really great brand don't get me wrong but I am attached to my baby!

I have had the wonderful camera you see above for about 3 years now and it really has changed my life. It's nothing fancy, just a Canon Rebel T3 is all. However it's given me some of the greatest memories of my life.

Here's a picture of me with to Nikon cameras, which also sadly do not belong to me. Somehow I always end up taking pictures with other peoples cameras haha. I find it quite funny! I do love looking through others lens though. The type of camera a person uses tells a lot about them, or at least I think so.

This picture is from senior year, and to be honest I used to hate this picture. (I hated all of my senior pictures to be honest.. pssst. it's because of the no hair thing lol. stupid cancer.. ANYWAYS!) I grew to love this picture because I had the one thing that never let me down in my hand. My camera! I do my best to carry it around with me everywhere because you never know when you might see something worth documenting!

This picture says it all my friends! And because I love photography I decided to make a career out of it and I couldn't be happier with my decision! I think that if I had chosen something else i wouldn't be as happy.

What do you guys love to do? And tell me why! I would love to hear all about your passions :D

Until next time..
