What I'm Thankful For!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

In honor of it being thanksgiving break I have recently been thinking of all the things I am so grateful for. This past year has been really up and down for me but overall it has been a really good year. There's so many things to celebrate this year overall though! And just like every other blogger I plan to tell you about these things!

1. My fabulous mother

2. My awesome roommates

3. My health and happiness!

I'm also thankful for smaller things like christmas lights, good smelling candles, the joy of the holiday season, and the ability to email my family in a different country. I'm thankful that I am a woman of God, a daughter to an amazing mother, and a friend to some of the most amazing people I could have ever met. This year has been so wonderful for me and I hope it has for everyone else.

2014 has been like a book, and now that there's only one more month left, let's make this last chapter really count for something!

I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving and don't eat too much turkey!
Until next time..

Quick Update!

I must apologize for being away for so long! I'm now on thanksgiving break and I have been busy the past week getting ready to leave by finishing up homework and packing. I'm so glad to say that I made it safely to California and I am finally at home! I will be posting about my trip here (which is where the picture above is from) and more on how my break is going later in the week. I just wanted to let you know I haven't completely disappeared! I hope everyone is having a wonderful thanksgiving break so far!

Until next time..

Hanging of the Greens

My school had a homecoming type of dance earlier this week. Although, we don't have a homecoming.. Let's just say it was a dance for no reason! Anyways.. It was fun for the time that I was there (because I was late and only stayed an hour).

It was inside of our arena and they decorated it very nice. I didn't get pictures of the dessert. But that's mainly because I was too busy eating them! They had cookies, cupcakes, and a chocolate fountain! It was pretty tasty if I do say so myself!

Here I am with my beautiful roommates! We had fun together and went out afterwards. However, we didn't stay out long because Edie had to leave the next day to visit home. :(
We miss her terribly and she's only been gone a day and a half..

I'm pretty sure Edie and Maddie were really into the song playing when this picture was taken. But with them who knows.

Overall the dance and night was pretty good! Getting to sleep however was the BEST part of the night, because ya know, I'm a college student who NEVER sleeps like I'm so supposed to. Oh well, what can ya do right?

Here's more pictures for ya!

Until next time..

To an amazing man - Happy Birthday

This post is dedicated to my grandfather Clyde.

I woke up this morning with a pain in my chest.. It's my third year not being able to call you on your birthday. Two years since I have heard your voice.. yet somehow I remember it like I spoke with you yesterday.  I still find it hard to remember that you're gone and I miss you so much everyday.

You were always so encouraging and motivating me as a child and for that I am forever grateful. Life without you? I couldn't imagine one. You're one of the smartest, loving, and kind men I have ever known. You've shown me what kind of man to look for, but no matter what they'll never live up to your greatness. Everything you did in life was in service of others. That's a life I hope to live in honor of you. I live happily knowing that you would be proud of the woman I have become today and I know that you're constantly watching over me.

You loved everyone around you unconditionally and it left a mark on all of our hearts. Your love is like a legacy, it will never die.

These are my last two pictures with you and although I don't really remember taking them I will treasure them forever. You always let me sit on your lap as a child and even though I was 16 in these photos you still let me sit as if I was 5.

Things I miss about you:
  • you explaining football to me and then always watching games with you yelling at the tv
  • your hugs (they were and always will be the best)
  • your smile
  • your kindness
  • your intelligence
  •  sitting in your office chair and you spinning me around until my stomach hurt from laughing at how dizzy I was
  • when you took my cast off my broken arm at 10 years old
  • you listening to my made up stories as a child
  • falling asleep in your lap and you letting me stay there
  • your laugh
  • your love for the raiders
You may be gone now, but you're NEVER forgotten. Life is harder without you but I know you would tell me to keep going. I wish time could rewind and it would stand still in my last moments with you. I hope you heard me sing you happy birthday like I have always done every year. I'll never stop! I love you so much.. Happy Birthday Dad.

Happy Halloween!

I'm about a week late but better late than never right?

First things first, I went to the Arizona State Fair for the first time on Halloween! This picture is from the top of one of the ferris wheels. Let me tell you.. I was so scared taking this picture, mostly because of my fear of heights. But thankfully I had Imani to come with me! I had so much fun at the fair and I look forward to going again next year, this time with more time to spare. We only got to spend about two hours there because we had some parties to go to after!

These lovely ladies joined my mom and I and it was so much fun with them! I even got Imani to take some pictures of my mom and I. This was especially important to me because I don't have many pictures with my mother. This makes me sad because she's like my bestfriend and as a photographer (and a blogger) I love taking pictures with the people I love!

Before going any further into this post I would like to say that God has blessed me with the perfect mother. She herself may not be perfect but her parenting skills have made me into who I am today, therefore she is perfect in my eyes. I love her with my whole heart and then some. These are my favorite pictures of us to date.

I also ran into some extra scary people with zippers on their faces! Crazy right! Just kidding.. they were really nice and I was so happy they agreed to take a picture with me!

Now, I know that the Halloween blogtober prompt was to reveal your costume soooo...

(left to right: me, Edie, Maddie, & Imani)
Here I am with my lovely roommates while we were headed to our second party. If you can't tell I was minnie mouse (with a tutu of course!), Edie was a nurse, Maddie was a referee, and Imani was a baseball player! We all had so much fun together this night and it's definitely a halloween I won't forget! Much like last years halloween (click here to check out my post about it).

I hope you all had a fabulous halloween, I know I sure did!

Until next time..
